ketamine-assisted Psychotherapy

KAP (Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy) has rapid effectiveness in providing relief from trauma, depression, anxiety, chronic stress, and PTSD. KAP can act as a protective factor against the recurrence of PTSD. There’s also early data that KAP may provide relief for addiction. KAP works by repairing the brain’s neural pathways, allowing for better communication between neurons. This promising option offers an alternative when traditional therapies fail, or fail to work long term.

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy safely allows one the freedom to visit painful areas and heal the burdens of traumatic experiences in a secure therapeutic relationship. The Ketamine is administered in-office and participants are closely monitored in a controlled setting.

“My 15-year-old son was traumatized by an illness and medical interventions. We sought out Dr. Engwall's expertise around ketamine-assisted psychotherapy for him because he just couldn't open up to his trusted therapist about the trauma. Dr. Engwall felt he would be a good candidate for it. My partner and I were nervous about it. We're both pretty conservative about using psychiatric medication, especially for our kids. Because of our deep trust in Dr. Engwall, we felt it was worth trying.

We were surprised at how quickly my son improved with the ketamine sessions. He was able to open up and process years of very difficult experiences safely and without becoming overwhelmed. Dr. Engwall was skilled and empathetic in helping him process his trauma. We are so grateful for the relief he gained.”

I’m writing with deep gratitude for Dr Engwall’s compassionate, skilled therapeutic approach and expertise in the use of ketamine. He helped me extract myself from a life mired in depression, low self-esteem and compulsive self-defeating behavior.

The ketamine-assisted therapy with Dr Engwall has profoundly changed my life to a degree I hadn’t dreamed possible.

From the very first session I was able to see through the illusion painted by my depressive frame of mind.  I’m able to handle situations that would drive me up the wall before.  Dr Engwall’s approach and the medicine freed me to explore in each session, with complete detachment, alternative ways of thinking about myself, my place in the world, and what really matters in my life.  I’ve come to see more clearly how my childhood experiences taught led me to keep hope and love at a distance.  Now I can lower my guard and allow my loved ones to be closer.  I’m making room for those parts of me that were too much to tolerate which makes me feel whole in a way I’ve never known.

“I have found micro-dosing with ketamine before my therapy appointment helps me to relax, assist in being less defended and more willing to try being more vulnerable during the session. ... I've done both larger doses of ketamine and microdosing. Both have their advantages but I prefer the micro dose. The ketamine-assisted psychotherapy with Dr. Engwall has helped to lift my depression … It helps me to focus more, become more self aware and more able to take personal responsibility for how I can live my life.”
